In the News

My husband came home a bit early today and so I thought we should go out. We got Little Poppet in her push chair and headed out. I thought walking to the shops would be nice. I even thought the ones up hill from us would be a nice walk. The Mr., thinking of me and the push chair (this is a stroller for you from the US), took us the long way - but he thought it was the easiest. So, instead of a steep upward climb for 15 minutes, he thought travelling around and up the hill for 2 hours would be easier for me. Thank you. Yes, I'd much rather never see the top of the hill and spiral around it than actually just go up it. My legs, feet and back all hate him. I still love him because I know he meant well but what can I do? My feet and back don't understand. I'm fairly sure my feet fell off midway through the journey. I don't want them back, though. They hurt.

In brighter news, the clotted cream fudge we bought was an instant hit. My dairy allergy took no time kicking in and shortly after I put Little Poppet to bed I began feeling like I was going to get to 'enjoy' the fudge for a second time. Thankfully some fizzy drink has helped me keep my food down. So, I guess I didn't make any better decisions today than the Mr. did. My belly hates me now too.

Little Poppet enjoyed the walk for the most part. Inside the shop something crashed and frightened her so she no longer wanted anything to do with the push chair. I took her outside and gave her a cuddle and it was cold and blustery enough to warrant putting the rain cover on (the sun was shining but it was a fairly cold breeze). So, she was a bit happier in her little pod and took a little nap. Of course, being the loving mum that I am decided it was best if she had a little nap and so we continued to walk around the neighbourhood even after we arrived back home until she awakened. She was happy and chattering away when she awoke so I gave her a bath, a meal and then bed. She is the sweetest and happiest and cutest little thing.

Well, then, the Mr. and I watched TV and were surprised to see that GM has invented their own little motorised push chair. They are hopeful that the world will embrace these and eventually they will get their own lane on the roads. Now I see how Little Poppet feels in her push chair. No, we won't be buying one. Little Poppet's has more leg room than the GM ones so maybe Peg Perigo should make the next pod cars.

Of course, we were watching with the subtitles so as to not wake Little Poppet and I have to say, the hearing impaired must be so confused. Reading that a 'shark' hit Italy and that 'Obama posed the war in Iraq' and something about a pilot being held in sai lilly had us wondering. But then, it is late at night and I would guess the subtitle typist is just as tired as I am.

Right. So, off to bed now, I'm so exhausted and the Mr. has promised me a massage since my back hurts. I've decided to take him up on this, however, I think I shall make him do my feet instead ha ha!
